Kabe’s Story

KabeKabe is 16 and is from Eastern Congo where he was forced to leave his village by the ongoing war when he was only 5.

On the way his parents and other people were slaughtered by the militia, brothers & sisters and other people taken away women and girls to be sex slaves, boys to become soldiers. His tears were not enough to bring back his loved ones.

Thanks God he was lucky enough to be left alive and not taken away like many other children and from there on he has to learn to be master of his own destiny. He had to make her way to find refuge and shelter.

After several miles and foot out in the cold of the night and hot of the day among few other survivors, he found himself in Mwene-Ditu with no relatives to help and nowhere to go. He was picked up from the Streets by sister Mado who brought him to the orphanage where Kabe could finally find shelter. He remember his mother telling him you will be a doctor to save the whole village, before the unseen visited them fading away all dreams.

Despite all that he still wants to fulfil his mother’s prophecy by trying as hard as he can to learn no matter what comes. You can help bring back the faded dreams of a young boy to live again by sponsoring Kabe’s education by giving as little as €30 and month.
